Meet Our Team

Amina Jaafar

Founder and CEO

Amina Jaafar is the Founder and CEO of Shape Their Future Foundation (STF). Born and raised in Northern Nigeria. Since growing up Amina has for many years been passionate and active in charity work. Over the last several years she has been supporting orphans by providing them with their basic needs. She has also funded the renovation of schools that were in poor condition and were not conducive for learning.

In Northern Nigeria, many underprivileged children lack access to a decent basic standard of living. Such children are faced with the constant fear that access to necessities such as food, clothing or education is not guaranteed on a day to day basis. In addition, many schools that cater to orphans or children from poor families have to deal with conditions that are not conducive to learning such as dilapidated or inadequate physical facilities, and lack of equipment and essential supplies and other basic amenities. This motivated Amina to form the Shape Their Future foundation, so as to help underprivileged children, especially orphans.

Concurrent with her work in philanthropy, Amina is also a successful interior designer with clients in Nigeria and the United States.

Amina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Masters degree in International Relations. After completion of her Masters degree, Amina continued her education by obtaining certificates in International Business and Paralegal Studies. She subsequently worked as a paralegal at an immigration law firm in San Francisco, California. Amina also previously worked as a volunteer with the international Rescue Committee (IRC), in San Francisco, where she assisted with resource development and volunteer management, federal grants reporting and general administration. She also completed an independent research project in financial literacy resources.
